The Third Annual Conference of the Accounting and Economics Society (AES 2026) will take place on May 15–16, 2026, at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business in Durham, North Carolina.
The conference provides a vibrant platform for scholars to present and discuss research at the intersection of accounting and economics, fostering dialogue that deepens our understanding of economic institutions and market mechanisms. While theoretical inquiry remains central, the AES welcomes all methodological perspectives, empirical, analytical, and experimental, and encourages interdisciplinary collaborations that integrate insights from the broader social sciences.
The event is co-sponsored by Duke University and the Accounting and Economics Society, alongside two complementary gatherings: the Accounting Theory Summer School at Duke University on May 18–20, and the Junior Theory Conference at Duke University on May 17.
The AES is an open scholarly community dedicated to advancing theoretical, archival, and experimental research in accounting. The Society promotes the dissemination of innovative ideas, the sharing of teaching materials, and the cultivation of intellectual exchange through its conferences and seminars.
