Conference Hotels

The conference will take place at Duke University Fuqua School of Business in Durham, North Carolina.  Fuqua is located on the West Campus of Duke University.

A limited number of rooms have been reserved at the two four-diamond rated Duke-owned hotels located on campus.  The room rate is $177/single and $195/double occupancy (plus taxes) with breakfast included.  The cut-off date for this special rate is Wednesday, May 13, 2020.  Please do not delay in booking your rooms as this block will sell out. Rooms can be cancelled up to 48 hours before occupancy date without charge.

JB Duke Hotel

JB Duke HotelFront facade of JB Duke Hotel is adjacent to the Fuqua School of Business. With its distinctively modern design and state-of-the-art conference center, this hotel has 198 guest rooms, 140 of which have two Queen sized beds. It is anticipated that those on a limited budget may want to seek a second person to share the room and thus reduce the cost of room and board. Amenities include complimentary Wi Fi, complimentary parking, and a fitness center. In addition, the JB Duke hotel/conference center has two separate bar/lounge areas and multiple conference rooms for private meetings to discuss research with other participants.

Washington Duke Inn

Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club (known locally as the WaDuke) is located about a ¼ mile from the Fuqua School, an easy 5 minute walk. It was designed as a traditional English country inn and features 271 elegantly-appointed guest rooms and suites, the award-winning Fairview Restaurant, the Bull Durham Lounge, and multiple meeting spaces and outdoor terraces. It is known for its gracious southern hospitality and is recognized as a AAA Four-Diamond hotel consecutively for the past 18 years. The Duke University Golf Club borders the Washington Duke Inn and was the site of the 2001 NCAA Men’s Golf Championship. It is considered one of the top ten golf courses in North America. Circumventing the course it the Al Buehler 5k walking and running trail. Both offer participants the opportunity to relax after long days of academic discourse.

Other Hotel Options

In addition, there are a number of premier hotels in Downtown Durham offering over 60 lodging options with over 7500 guest rooms ranging from charming bed and breakfast inns to luxury hotels. Most of these are an easy taxi ride to campus. Most of these are an easy (less than 10 minutes) taxi ride or shared driving service to campus.  Note, in contrast to the two official conference hotels, not all Durham hotels include or serve breakfast. As the conference will not be serving breakfast, you will need to ensure you have access to breakfast if you so desire.
